Agatha Christie was an English crime novelist, short story writer, and playwright. She is best known for her detective novels, which have sold over 2 billion copies worldwide, making her the best-selling novelist of all time. Some of her most famous works include "Murder on the Orient Express," "And Then There Were None," and "The Murder of Roger Ackroyd." Christie also became a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1971.
