Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is an American politician and activist who currently serves as the U.S. Representative for New York's 14th congressional district. She gained national attention after defeating longtime incumbent Joe Crowley in the 2018 Democratic primary, becoming the youngest woman ever to serve in the United States Congress. Ocasio-Cortez is known for her progressive views on issues such as climate change, healthcare, and income inequality.
