Ann Nelson was an American theoretical physicist and cosmologist. She made significant contributions to the understanding of elementary particle physics and was known for her work on supersymmetric and extra-dimensional models of the universe. She was a professor of physics at the University of Washington and a fellow of the American Physical Society. Nelson was also a recipient of numerous prestigious awards for her contributions to physics. She passed away in 2019.
