Barbara Ann Teer was an American actress, director, and playwright. She was the founder and artistic director of the National Black Theatre in Harlem, New York City, which she established in 1968. Teer was known for her commitment to the visibility and empowerment of Black artists and the advancement of Black theater. She passed away in 2008.
