Charles Farrell was an American actor who rose to fame during the silent film era, appearing in more than 300 films throughout his career. He is best known for his work in romantic comedies and dramas, and for his onscreen partnership with actress Janet Gaynor. Farrell continued to work in the film industry until the early 1950s, and later served as a mayor of Palm Springs, California.
