Daniel Chichagov was a Russian admiral who served in the Imperial Russian Navy during the Napoleonic Wars. He played a key role in the Baltic campaign of 1812-1814, commanding the Russian fleet in several decisive battles against the French navy. Despite his successes, he was later criticized for his conservative tactics and lack of innovation.
