Emma Amos (1938-2020) was an American artist and a prominent figure of the Black feminist art movement of the 1970s. Her work explores themes of race, gender, and identity, often incorporating elements of traditional African textiles and incorporating her own image into her paintings. Amos passed away in May 2020.
