Gene Davis was an American painter and minimalist artist, best known for his large-scale, hard-edged geometric compositions, often featuring bold stripes of vivid color. He was associated with the Washington Color School, a group of artists who were active in Washington, DC in the 1960s and 1970s. Davis passed away in 1985 at the age of 64.
