George Burns was a prolific American actor, comedian, singer, and writer who lived from 1896 to 1996. He began his career in vaudeville before transitioning to film and television, where he appeared in numerous successful programs and movies throughout the 20th century. Burns is best known for his partnership with Gracie Allen and their comedy duo Burns and Allen. He won an Academy Award for his supporting role in "The Sunshine Boys" at the age of 80.
