Hattie McDaniel

Hattie McDaniel was an American actress who rose to fame in the 1930s and became the first black person to win an Academy Award for her role in Gone with the Wind. Despite facing racial stereotypes and discrimination, McDaniel paved the way for future black actresses in Hollywood.
