Héctor Babenco
Héctor Babenco was an Argentine-born Brazilian film director known for his works that explored the complexities of human relationships, immigration and socio-political issues. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director for the film "Kiss of the Spider Woman" in 1985, and was widely regarded as one of Brazil's most influential contemporary filmmakers. Babenco passed away in 2016 at the age of 70.
