Hoagy Carmichael (1899-1981) was an American composer, singer, and pianist. He wrote over 500 songs, including "Stardust," "Georgia on My Mind," and "Heart and Soul." Carmichael was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1979. He also acted in films such as "To Have and Have Not" and "The Best Years of Our Lives."
