Ian Richardson was a Scottish stage and screen actor best known for his portrayal of the Machiavellian politician Francis Urquhart in the BBC series "House of Cards." He had a distinguished career in both classical and contemporary drama, and was also a noted Shakespearean actor. Richardson passed away in 2007 at the age of 72.
