Isao Takahata

Isao Takahata (1935-2018) was a Japanese animator, film director and co-founder of the animation studio Studio Ghibli. He directed many acclaimed anime films, including Grave of the Fireflies, Pom Poko, and The Tale of Princess Kaguya. Takahata's films often explored complex themes such as war, society, and family, and he was highly respected in the animation industry for his contributions to Japanese culture.
