Jane Darwell

Jane Darwell (1879-1967) was an American actress best known for her supporting roles in over 100 films, most notably as Ma Joad in John Steinbeck's "The Grapes of Wrath." She won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for this role in 1941. Darwell also enjoyed a successful stage career.
