Jean Marais was a French actor, director, and screenwriter. He was best known for his work in the films of Jean Cocteau, such as Beauty and the Beast and Orpheus. Marais also starred in Hollywood productions including The Longest Day and The Count of Monte Cristo. He died in 1998 at the age of 84.
