Jim Varney was an American actor, comedian, and writer known for his character Ernest P. Worrell. Varney starred in several movies and TV shows, but is most remembered for his work as Ernest in numerous commercials and films in the 1980s and early 1990s. He passed away in 2000 from lung cancer.
