Kathryn Bigelow is an American film director, producer, and screenwriter. She is best known for her film The Hurt Locker, which won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 2010. Bigelow is the first woman to win an Academy Award for Best Director. Her other notable films include Zero Dark Thirty and Point Break.
