Katina Paxinou was a Greek actress who gained international recognition for her role in the film "For Whom the Bell Tolls" in 1943, for which she won an Academy Award. She also starred in several other Hollywood films and was a prominent figure in the Greek theatre world. Paxinou passed away in 1973.
