Katy Jurado (1924-2002) was a Mexican actress who appeared in over 70 films and became the first Latin American actress to be nominated for an Academy Award. She was known for her strong and powerful performances in both Mexican and Hollywood cinema during the 1940s, 50s, and 60s.
