Kay Thompson was an American actress, singer, and songwriter who is best known for her role as fashion magazine editor Maggie Prescott in the 1957 film Funny Face. She also wrote the popular Eloise children's book series. Thompson was known for her distinctive singing and style, and was a popular figure in Hollywood during the 1950s and 1960s.
