Lucy Maud Montgomery (1874-1942) was a Canadian author best known for her novel "Anne of Green Gables". She wrote over 20 novels and 500 short stories in her career. Her works have been translated into more than 20 languages and have sold millions of copies worldwide. Montgomery was inducted into the Canadian Women's Hall of Fame in 1999.
