Lupe Ontiveros was a Mexican-American actress known for her roles in films such as "Selena" and "As Good as It Gets". She often portrayed working-class Latina women and was a frequent collaborator with director Gregory Nava. Ontiveros was also an advocate for Latino representation in the entertainment industry. She passed away in 2012 at the age of 69.
