Mal Evans (1941-1976) was a British roadie, personal assistant, and friend of The Beatles. He was instrumental in their success throughout the 1960s, managing equipment, playing percussion on some of their recordings, and even contributing to songwriting. Evans tragically died of a gunshot wound in Los Angeles in 1976.
