Marpessa Dawn was an American-born French actress, dancer, and singer. She became internationally recognized for her role as Eurydice in the 1959 film "Black Orpheus," which won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. She appeared in several other films before dedicating herself to her music career. She died in 2008 at the age of 74.
