Mary Philbin was an American actress who was famous for her performance in the 1925 silent film "The Phantom of the Opera." She made over 20 films in her career, mainly appearing in horror and romance genres. After her career declined in the 1930s, she retired from acting and lived a private life until her death in 1993.
