Matt Groening is a cartoonist, writer, and producer best known for creating the popular animated sitcoms "The Simpsons" and "Futurama." He grew up in Portland, Oregon, and began his career in animation in the late 1970s with his comic strip "Life in Hell." He has won numerous awards for his work, including several Primetime Emmy Awards.
