Melina Mercouri was a Greek actress, singer and politician. She starred in numerous films, including "Never on Sunday" for which she received an Academy Award nomination. She later became the Minister of Culture for Greece and a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador. She was known for her advocacy for the return of the Elgin Marbles to Greece.
