Michael Apted was a well-respected British director and filmmaker known for his work on critically acclaimed films such as Coal Miner's Daughter, Gorillas in the Mist, and The World is Not Enough. He also directed numerous documentaries and was the President of the Directors Guild of America. Apted passed away on January 7, 2021, at the age of 79.
