Michael Shanks is a Canadian actor known for his portrayal of Dr. Daniel Jackson in the science fiction series Stargate SG-1. He has also appeared in other TV shows and films, including Smallville, Saving Hope, and Elysium. In addition to acting, Shanks has also directed a number of episodes of Stargate SG-1 and other shows.
