Nikita Khrushchev, born in 1894, was a Soviet politician who served as Premier of the Soviet Union from 1958 to 1964. He played a major role in de-Stalinization and the Cuban Missile Crisis, and was known for his policies of peaceful coexistence with the West. Khrushchev died in 1971.
