Novella Nelson was an American actress and singer. She appeared in many films and television shows, including The Starter Wife, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Whatever Works. Nelson also performed in Broadway productions, including Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Purlie. She passed away in 2017 at the age of 77.
