Penny Marshall was an American actress, director, and producer best known for her role as Laverne DeFazio on the sitcom Laverne & Shirley. She also directed popular films such as Big, Awakenings, and A League of Their Own. She passed away in December 2018 at the age of 75 due to complications from diabetes.
