Persis Khambatta was an Indian actress and model, best known for her role as Lieutenant Ilia in the film "Star Trek: The Motion Picture". She also appeared in numerous other films and TV shows throughout her career, and was an icon in the Indian film industry. She passed away in 1998 at the age of 49.
