Phyllis Frelich

Phyllis Frelich (1944-2014) was a deaf American actress who was best known for her work in the theater, particularly for her performances in plays by deaf playwright Mark Medoff. She won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play in 1980 for her role in Children of a Lesser God, and went on to play the same role in the 1986 film adaptation. She was a pioneer for deaf actors in the entertainment industry.
