Ray Charles

Ray Charles was a legendary American singer, songwriter and pianist, known as the "Father of Soul." Born in Georgia in 1930, he combined elements of gospel, blues, R&B, jazz and soul to create a distinctive sound that influenced generations of musicians. Charles had numerous hits throughout his career and won multiple Grammy Awards. He passed away in 2004 at the age of 73.
