Russell Thorndike was a British actor and author best known for his portrayal of the character Dr. Syn in the 1937 film "Dr. Syn." He also appeared in numerous stage productions and wrote several books, including the "Dr. Syn" series. Thorndike passed away in 1972 at the age of 89.
