Saburo Date

Saburo Date was a Japanese mathematician and a professor at the University of Tokyo. He is known for his contributions to the field of harmonic analysis, including the development of the notion of a maximal function. Date was awarded the Imperial Prize of the Japan Academy in 1955 for his work in mathematics.
