Slim Pickens was an American actor and rodeo performer, born Louis Burton Lindley Jr. on June 29, 1919, in Kingsburg, California. He is best known for his roles in Westerns and for his appearance in Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb. Pickens died on December 8, 1983, in Modesto, California, at the age of 64.
