Tobe Hooper (1943-2017) was an American film director, best known for his horror movies such as "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" and "Poltergeist". He started his career in the 1970s and became associated with the genre of 'grindhouse' cinema. He died in Los Angeles aged 74.
