Vijaya Nirmala was an Indian film actress, director and producer who appeared in Telugu cinema. She is known for being the first female director in Telugu cinema and directed 44 films in Telugu. She received several awards for her work, including the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for lifetime achievement in Telugu cinema. Nirmala passed away in 2019.
