Werner Herzog is a German film director, screenwriter, author, actor, and opera director. He is known for his often surreal and visually breathtaking films, including Aguirre, the Wrath of God, Fitzcarraldo, and Grizzly Man. He has won numerous awards throughout his career, including the Silver Bear, the Grand Prix, and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the European Film Awards.
