William Haines was an American film actor and interior designer. He started his career in silent films and transitioned to talkies. However, his openly gay lifestyle led to being blacklisted in Hollywood. He then became a successful interior decorator, serving clients like Joan Crawford and Betsy Bloomingdale. He died in 1973 at the age of 73.
